Greetings, Slayers!
Today we are releasing Phase 3 of the Slayer skill! This phase introduces plenty of new content, including new monsters, monster mechanics, superior variants, items and the Slayer Tower.
Slayer Tower
The Slayer Tower is now open, located north-east of Varrock. This iconic location features three levels, each containing increasingly dangerous Slayer monsters, as well as a basement reserved for Slayer tasks only.

Key Features of the Slayer Tower:
- Slayer Level Requirements: All monsters within the tower require a Slayer level to kill.
- Task-Only Basement: Only players with an active Slayer task can fight monsters in this area. Raulyn, the tower’s guard, will prevent any unauthorized combat.
- Dwarf Cannons Prohibited: Cannons cannot be used anywhere in the tower, including the basement.
- Agility Shortcuts:
- Two shortcuts inside the tower allow faster movement between floors.
- These shortcuts require Agility levels 61 and 71 and have a chance to fail, dealing damage upon failure, though you’ll still successfully climb to the next floor.
To make your journey easier, you can use the Slayer Ring to teleport directly to the tower. This should help you save time as you take on your next challenges!
Slayer Monsters
The new Slayer Tower introduces a variety of Slayer monsters, each with unique mechanics and superior variants. Superior monsters not only pose a greater challenge but also reward 10x experience upon defeat, making them a valuable addition to any Slayer journey.
Crawling Feet
- Requirement: Level 5 Slayer
- Location: Main floor of the Slayer Tower
- Superior Variant: Crushing Feet
Banshees
- Requirement: Level 15 Slayer
- Location: Main floor of the Slayer Tower
- Superior Variant: Screaming Banshee
Mechanics:
Players must equip Earmuffs or a Slayer helmet when fighting Banshees to avoid their screams. Without this protection, players will take damage and experience significant stat reductions in Attack, Strength, Defence, Ranged, Magic, Prayer, and Agility.
- Attack Style: Magic-based
- Special Ability: Banshees regenerate health rapidly.
Infernal Mages
- Requirement: Level 45 Slayer
- Location: Second floor of the Slayer Tower
- Superior Variant: Malevolent Mage
Mechanics:
Infernal Mages use a weaker version of the Fire Blast spell to attack players, and the superior version has higher damage and base stats.
Stingoyles
- Requirement: Level 75 Slayer
- Location: Third floor and basement of the Slayer Tower
- Superior Variant: Marble Stingoyle
Mechanics:
Stingoyles require a rock hammer to finish them when their health drops below 9. Without this, they cannot be killed. Players can purchase the "Stingoyle Smasher" perk from Slayer Masters for 120 Slayer points, automating the hammering process.
- Combat Styles: Melee and Ranged
- Marble Stingoyle: Occasionally launches a Magic special attack, dealing up to 38 damage and immobilizing players briefly. Players can mitigate damage by using Protect from Missiles against its ranged attacks.
The Creature
- Requirement: Level 80 Slayer
- Location: Top floor and basement of the Slayer Tower
- Superior Variant: Creatryarch
Mechanics:
- Regular Creatures summon Death Spawns to assist in combat, up to two at a time. Death Spawns have semi-inaccurate attacks with a maximum hit of 2 that can bypass Paralyze Monster prayers.
- Creatryarch: Summons 3 chaotic Death Spawns, each attacking with Magic, Ranged, and Melee. These spawns deal higher damage but are susceptible to protection prayers.
Abyssal Demons
- Requirement: Level 85 Slayer
- Location: Top floor and basement of the Slayer Tower
- Superior Variant: Greater Abyssal Demon
Mechanics:
Abyssal Demons can teleport themselves or the player during combat. Players may be teleported up to 20 tiles away, interrupting their attacks.
To prevent this, players can read a Teleport Anchoring Scroll, which grants permanent immunity to player teleport effects. These scrolls can be obtained as drops from Pirates and Gorgons, or by opening the Pirate's Footlocker in Port Sarim.
- Greater Abyssal Demon: Features a devastating special attack, increasing its attack speed to 1 tick for four rapid strikes, each guaranteed to hit for over 20 damage. During this special attack, it teleports around the player on each hit. Usage of Paralyze Monster prayers is extremely critical here.
Cave Horrors
- Requirement: Level 58 Slayer
- Location: Basement of the Slayer Tower (Task-Only Area)
- Superior Variant: Cave Abomination
Mechanics:
Cave Horrors have a unique attack that deals damage equal to 10% of the player’s base Hitpoints, rounded down (e.g., 9 damage at 96 Hitpoints).
- Mitigation: This damage can be reduced by wearing a witchwood icon or completely nullified by using Paralyze Monster prayers.
The addition of these Slayer monsters and their superior variants offers new challenges and greater rewards for those who dare to take them on. Remember: all superior variants grant 10x experience.
New Items & Slayer Helmet
The Slayer Tower not only introduces new monsters but also brings a host of new items for players to obtain. These items are essential for advancing your Slayer journey and gaining powerful combat boosts.
Imbued Heart & Eternal Gem
All superior variants of Slayer monsters have a chance to drop:
- Imbued Heart: Boosts your Magic level temporarily, making it a valuable item for mages.
- Eternal Gem: A permanent Slayer gem used to craft the Slayer Ring (eternal), which provides infinite teleports without depleting charges.
Black Mask
- Dropped by: Cave Horrors and Cave Abominations
- Requirements to Equip:
- 20 Strength
- 10 Defence
- 40 Combat
The Black Mask is a unique piece of headgear that provides the same stats as a black med helm. While wearing it on a Slayer task, players receive a 16.67% Attack and Strength boost against their assigned Slayer monsters.
Players with 55 Crafting and the "Malevolent Masquerade" ability (unlocked for 400 Slayer reward points) can combine the Black Mask with other Slayer headgear to create the Slayer Helmet.
Abyssal Whip
- Dropped by: Abyssal Demons & Greater Abyssal Demons
- Requirements to Equip: 70 Attack
The Abyssal Whip is a one-handed Melee weapon that stands as one of the most powerful weapons in the game.
Teleport Anchoring Scroll
- Obtained from:
- Pirates

The Teleport Anchoring Scroll is a rare item that provides permanent immunity to teleport attacks from Abyssal Demons. Once read, players can confidently take on Abyssal Demons without worrying about their player teleport mechanic.

The Slayer Helmet is an iconic piece of equipment crafted by combining the following items:
- Nose Peg
- Facemask
- Earmuffs
