Inactivity Cleanup, GP Squish, and Ban Amnesty – February 27, 2025

Greetings, RSCDynastists!

As we step into the new year, we’re taking this opportunity to refresh the world of RSCDynasty with an inactivity cleanup and a GP squish to promote a healthier server. Additionally, we will be granting an amnesty for long-banned users, giving some players a fresh chance to return.

This process will take place on February 27, 2025, with expected downtime lasting several hours.

Inactivity Cleanup

To free up long-forgotten character names, we will be removing inactive characters names based on the following criteria:

  • Level 3 characters that have not been played since January 2024 will have their names removed.
    - Affected characters will be required to choose a new name upon their next login.

Characters that have their name removed will have the opportunity to select a new name upon their next login.

GP Squish – 50% Reduction

To address economic inflation and maintain a balanced in-game economy, we will be performing a 50% GP squish (including Vaults and Coinboxes). This means that all gold in circulation - whether in inventories, banks, pouches, mailboxes, or the auction house - will be reduced by half.

Why Are We Doing This?

Over time, as with any MMORPG, the economy naturally inflates due to constant GP generation from monster drops, skilling, staff-hosted events and tournaments, new account modes (such as 1x), holiday events, and more. While these features were added in response to community demand, they have also significantly contributed to the overall growth of GP in circulation.

For years, there was nothing in place to fairly moderate this, until we recently introduced several gold sinks to help balance the economy. While these sinks have been effective and will continue to play an important role, more adjustments are needed as RSCDynasty continues to grow - both in player base and content.

If left unchecked, inflation makes wealth accumulate disproportionately and trade less meaningful. To ensure long-term economic stability, we are making key adjustments now - starting with the GP squish and inactivity cleanup.

Beyond this, we will continue improving the economy with adjustments to vaults and chests, reduced rare vendor prices, and additional gold sinks like the Auction House tax. These changes are designed to keep RSCDynasty fair, engaging, and sustainable for all players - now and in the future.

How This Impacts You?

We understand that a GP squish might seem like a big change, but here’s what it actually means for you:

  • If you were the richest player before, you are still the richest player after.
  • Your wealth position remains the same - this is an adjustment to overall balance, not individual rankings.
  • GP holders still control the market - liquidity is still valuable, and those who manage their wealth wisely will continue to benefit.

This change doesn’t erase anyone’s progress - it simply keeps the economy healthy, competitive, and sustainable for the long run. Over time, players will see new trade opportunities, more meaningful transactions, and a market that actually works for everyone.

Ban Amnesty – A Second Chance

On the same date, we will be issuing a ban amnesty for some previously banned users, primarily those who have been banned for a long time.

However, not all bans will be lifted. The conditions for amnesty will not be made public, as our staff has specific internal criteria to ensure that only appropriate cases are considered. No significant rule-breakers or recently banned accounts will be unbanned.

Taking Steps for a Better Future

At RSCDynasty, we care about the long-term stability of the game and its economy. As our player base grows - with 200+ players online and more new and returning players than ever before - it’s important to ensure a balanced and sustainable economy.

To keep the game strong, we’re making proactive adjustments to preserve the value of GP, prevent excessive inflation, and keep the economy engaging for all players. These changes are about long-term stability, fairness, and ensuring that every player - new or veteran - can participate in a thriving economy.

We’ve carefully considered every angle, looked at successful implementations in other game genres/servers, and stand by this decision as what’s best for RSCDynasty’s future. But this isn’t just about the economy - we are constantly working behind the scenes to improve the entire game experience, from performance to new content.

What’s Next for RSCDynasty?

  • Server & Performance Improvements - We’ve been optimizing performance, reducing lag, and improving server efficiency to ensure a smoother and more responsive gameplay experience. Additionally, we’re actively exploring new hosting solutions to improve ping and stability for players across all regions.

  • Slayer Expansion & Future Content – The Slayer skill has been a major project, and we’re committed to expanding and refining it even further. But Slayer isn’t the only thing on our roadmap - we have even bigger plans for future content.

  • Better Communication & Community Growth - We’re working on expanding our social media presence to bring in new and returning players. In-game, we’ll continue refining global chat, PK balance, and other systems to ensure new players feel welcome and competitive players have more ways to engage.

  • Player-Driven Economy & Quality-of-Life Updates - Every update, including this one, is designed to make sure that both new and veteran players have a fair, competitive, and rewarding experience.

We know that change can be uncomfortable, but we hope you can see the bigger picture - we are constantly working to make RSCDynasty the best private server possible, and that means thinking about the long-term. Every decision we make is with the community’s best interest in mind.

We thank you for trusting us with past decisions, and we hope you will trust us with this one and many more to come. RSCDynasty is only getting better, and this is just another step toward making it the strongest private server there is.

Kind Regards,
Dragonfire
