I wanted to give you all an update on what's been happening behind the scenes. I've been absolutely buried in development work over quite some time, alongside some IRL commitments that needed attention. Because of this, I'm going to miss the actual Halloween date - but don't worry!
All Hallows' Night will launch NEXT FRIDAY (November 7th) instead, giving me the time to polish everything and ensure the event is as great as it deserves to be.

The Pumpkin Reaper:
Face off against a terrifying creature wearing a pumpkin head, draped in black robes, and wielding a deadly scythe. This boss awaits those brave enough to challenge him in his dark domain - featuring multiple phases with unique mechanics that will test your team's coordination!

I have worked on this for quite some time now - a complete rewrite of major game systems. This has taken a lot of intensive work, but the foundation we now have is going to enable so much more in the future.
Yes, this might introduce bugs initially - I've rewritten huge portions of the game core. But the performance gains, stability improvements, and new capabilities are absolutely worth it. Please report anything unusual you encounter!

IMPORTANT SUBSCRIPTION UPDATE

The old subscription system is being retired!
Previously, we had multiple subscription tiers (outlined at https://www.dragonfire.gg/server-features/rscdynasty/general/subscriptions/). This created complexity and made managing memberships difficult.
What's Changing:
Old subscription tiers - Being removed
Dragonfire+ only - Single unified membership system
Purchase with Dynasty Coins - Buy directly in-game through the Game Shop
Flexible durations - Buy 7, 30, 60 at a time
What About Existing Subscriptions?
Don't worry - we've got you covered:
Active game time - Automatically transferred to Dragonfire+
Unused tokens - Will be converted to dynasty coins.
No loss of benefits - You keep everything you paid for
Seamless transition - Happens automatically on update day
Our old sleeping word system has been completely rebuilt with full customization:

Multiple captcha types:
Font-based rendering - RSC font-styling make each captcha unique
Distortion effects - Authentic RSC-style character tilting and spacing
Configurable difficulty - We can adjust question types and difficulty on the fly
The buff system has been upgraded for better reliability and features:
Pause on offline - Option for buffs to pause while logged out (IE: game timed buffs)
Visual feedback - See your active buffs with time remaining
Buff order - Your buffs stays in the order they are applied
Better task management - More efficient and less prone to issues
Easy refresh - Buffs can be refreshed without reapplying
Used for every single buff such as Spells, XP increase, Consumes, and more!
Mentioned in Barrows - a brand new system for items that wear down with use:
Barrows equipment - Degrades through combat and requires repair
Repair system - Visit NPCs to restore your equipment
Visual indicators - See degradation status on items
Extensible - Can be applied to future items (Cleavers, special weapons, etc.)
This adds real value to maintaining your best gear!
Huge upgrades to how the game handles map data, this will be noticable in the barrows maps:
Client + Server support - Both sides now handle advanced terrain
Blending - Beautiful terrain color transitions
Better performance - Optimized rendering and data structures
Future-proof - Foundation for custom areas and expansions
Behind the scenes, I've built custom tools that will massively speed up content creation. This has taken a significant amount of time, but the investment will pay off with faster, higher-quality updates: Such as our very own Landscape Editor, Data definition tools and other important tools that improve content pipeline.
These tools might not be visible to you, but they represent weeks of development work that will enable me to create and deploy content much faster moving forward!
