Published Thursday, 28 May 2026

Hello RSCDynastists! The wait is over the long awaited content is here. As promised, we're rolling out Krakens Cove and the Revenants Cave, two brand-new combat areas packed with fresh monsters, bosses, and powerful rewards. On top of that, this update brings a Slayer experience change and a whole list of quality-of-life improvements across the game. Here's everything that's new!

Krakens Cove

Krakens Cove

The depths of Krakens Cove are now open - a brand-new Slayer area home to Waterfiends, Cave Krakens, and the mighty Kraken boss lurking in the deeper waters.

What awaits you:

  • Waterfiends - dangerous denizens of the cove.
  • Cave Krakens - disturb a whirlpool to draw one out as your Slayer target.
  • The Kraken - a true boss fight for those brave enough to disturb the boss whirlpool.

These creatures lurk beneath the water, out of reach of melee - so bring your magic gear. Cave Krakens and the Kraken are Slayer-assignment creatures, so you'll want a task before heading in.

Revenants Cave

Revenants Cave

Deep in the Wilderness, the Revenants Cave has opened its gates. These restless spirits of long-dead warriors guard some of the most sought-after rewards in the game.

What awaits you:

  • Three ether-powered Wilderness weapons - Craw's Bow, Viggora's Chainmace, and Thammaron's Sceptre, each gaining a powerful +50% bonus against NPCs while in the Wilderness.
  • The Bracelet of Ethereum - make the most of every scrap of revenant ether you collect.
  • The Wilderness Maledictus - a boss-tier revenant carrying guaranteed valuable loot and Forinthry Surge buff.

Higher-level revenants carry better odds at the rare drops. It's the Wilderness, so the risk is real - but so is the reward.

Slayer Experience Update

Slayer experience is now awarded at the standard skilling rate, bringing it in line with every other skill in the game - no more being treated as a special case. Dragonfire+ members receive their usual premium experience bonus on Slayer as well, exactly as they do on other skills.

Please note: Slayer experience is not affected by other XP buffs. Experience-boosting items and effects - XP tokens, food buffs, the Experience Elixir, double experience, and hotspots - do not stack on top of the Slayer rate.

If you've been holding off on Slayer tasks, now's the perfect time to dive back in!

Quality of Life & Improvements

A whole batch of improvements landed alongside the new content:

  • New World Map renderer - the in-game world map has been completely rebuilt with smoother zooming, sharper terrain, faster loading, and proper map icons for trees, gates, fountains and other landmarks. A major visual and performance upgrade over the old map.
  • Dragon set dragonfire protection - wearing the full Dragon set (Dragon Helm, Dragon Platebody, and Dragon Platelegs) now grants dragonfire breath protection, giving you another way to gear up against dragons.
  • Updated skill guide menus - the in-game skill menu interfaces have all been refreshed to reflect the latest data, so the guides now match current content.
  • Slayer Ring (eternal) - the eternal Slayer Ring can now be crafted via Crafting.
  • NPC Database improvements - the in-game NPC database now lists drops for monsters that use special drop systems beyond the standard drop table, including Gorefang, Bonemaster, revenants, and others. Their full loot is now visible in the database just like any other monster.
  • Wiki has been updated - Wiki has been updated with tons of new useful game information.
  • Barrows Rewards - The barrows items had a slight error in its formula which caused it to become harder than original to obtain item pieces, this has now been fixed.
  • Sleeping Captcha - Only contain words now and no more math and trivia questions.
  • Dungeon Light Intensity - You can now disable the dungeon light flicker in Settings Menu.
  • Auction House listings - You can now select duration of your listings from 2 days, 4 days and 7 days.

What's Next?

There's plenty more on the way. We are working on the next Slayer Boss Cerberus as well as planning big changes to hotspot, a resource area and castle.

Please take your time to read full mechanics and guides for the new content live on the wiki as it is a pretty large one and can be hard to understand - the news post is just the highlights.

We're very very proud of this update as it contains a lot of new systems and we have worked hard to make the server support new ways of weapon and npc mechanics and other core systems. We hope you enjoy everything that's new.
